Precautions for electrofusion fittings
Apr 02, 2026
1. During installation, the inner wall of the electrofusion fittings and the fusion zone of the pipe must be free of organic matter and other substances for contamination.
2. When welding fittings, keep a safe distance from them until 30 seconds after welding is complete and the pipe has cooled completely before approaching.
3. Adjust welding time according to changes in ambient temperature and operating voltage.
4. Input a power supply matching the requirements of the electrofusion welding machine. The farther the power supply is from the machine, the larger the wire diameter should be to avoid undervoltage affecting weld quality.
5. During pipe installation, elbows and tees must be reinforced with supports or brackets, and appropriate pipe compensation must be implemented.
6. Pipe burial must be below the frost line, and the pipe trench must not be submerged in water during installation and welding.
7. In low temperatures, proper insulation must be ensured when welding electrofusion fittings.
8. In environments with large day-night temperature differences, stabilizers and other tools must be used to secure the pipes on both sides of the electrofusion fittings to prevent thermal expansion and contraction from affecting weld quality.
9. Do not move the pipes and fittings during the cooling process.
